Manifests group multiple shipments into a single dispatch document assigned to a driver. They serve as the handoff record between warehouse and delivery operations.
Manifest Status Flow
| Status | Meaning | Next Possible Status |
|---|---|---|
| Open | Manifest created and accepting shipments. Shipments can still be added or removed. | Closed |
| Closed | Manifest finalized. No more shipments can be added. Ready for driver handoff. | Dispatched |
| Dispatched | Driver has departed with the manifest. All included shipments are marked as in_transit. | Terminal state |
Creating a Manifest

Go to Warehouse → Manifests → Create
Navigate to Logistics → Warehouse → Manifests and click the Create Manifest button.

Select a Driver
Choose the driver who will handle the dispatch from the dropdown. The dropdown shows all available drivers with their current location and active manifest count.

Select Shipments to Include
Check the shipments to add to the manifest. Only shipments with status processed and no existing manifest assignment are available for selection. Use the search and filter tools to find specific shipments.

Click Create Manifest
Click Create Manifest to finalize. The manifest is created with status Open.

Shipments Marked as In Transit
When the manifest is dispatched, all selected shipments are automatically updated to in_transit status. This status change is logged in each shipment's activity trail.
Manifest Detail View
Opening a manifest shows all included shipments in a list with their tracking numbers, sender/receiver details, and current status. The manifest detail view also displays the assigned driver, creation date, and total shipment count.
Export Manifest PDF
From the manifest detail page, click Export PDF to generate a printable manifest document. The PDF includes:
- Company header and manifest number
- Driver name and assignment date
- Complete list of shipments with tracking numbers and addresses
- Signature lines for driver and warehouse staff
You can also export manifests in bulk from the manifest list using the date range and driver filters to narrow results before exporting.
